PARTNERS FOR PROGRESS…Thursday, October 15, 2009 at
2:30 in Hollister Town Hall. Taney County Officials,
Hollister and Branson City Officials, MoDOT representatives,
and others will be on hand
to discuss area transportation projects.
FALL CLEAN UP DAY Tuesday, October 6... On your
normal trash collection day you can place curbside for pick
up any large disposable allowable items and one appliance.
Items that are not allowed include; batteries, tires, yard
waste, paint cans, oil and major construction material.
Refrigerants must be removed and items must be properly
labeled "CFC Removed" or they will not be picked up for
disposal. This would be a good time for you to help your
neighbor carry some of their “stuff” to the curb for pick
up.
HOLLISTER HALLOWEEN WALK & YMCA BOO BASH…Friday,
October 30, 2009… Witches galore, scary sounds, low lying
fog and shiny red shoes with treats are in store at the 6th
Annual Hollister Halloween Walk at the YMCA. Come search
for city officials as your stroll through the haunted withes
walk at the YMCA. Donations of cash and/or treats are
needed. Last year this annual event hosted over six hundred
(600) children and kept them safely off the streets at
nighttime hours.
FOUNDERS DAY AND HOLLISTER CELEBRATES 100 YEARS…on
April 30 thru May 2, 2010. Committee members for varied
events are needed. There will be a Hat-titude Ball on April
30 at College of the Ozarks, a Saturday night concert and
fireworks on Sunday night. Saturday will be filled with fun,
food, contests and games. Let us know if you have an idea
for a fun event and come join us and be on the planning
committee. Call 334-3262 for meeting date information.
SHOP HOLLISTER FIRST…City sales tax revenues are
down. Dollars to operate the city comes from sales tax.
The City of Hollister receives 2.0 cents of the 8.1 cents
charged on retail merchandise.
RECYCLE…to reduce paper waste. You can place your
paper in the Big Green Bin located behind the Hollister
Elementary School. Paper items accepted for recycling;
books (hardback & paperback), feed or seed bags (no plastic
linings), junk mail, magazines & catalogs, newspapers &
slick inserts, office paper, construction paper (staples are
ok), paper cartons, pasteboard, pasteboard inserts from
kitchen paper towel & toilet paper rolls and telephone
books.
IMPORTANT TELEPHONE NUMBERS …Do you have your copy of
the A to Z Guide to City Services booklet? Pick up a copy
of the Guide to City Services at Hollister Town Hall. Ask
Bridget, Rhoda or Sandy for a copy when you pay your utility
bill…or just drive thru and the girls will gladly give you a
copy. Do you know how to contact Animal Control, the
Transfer Station or the Prosecuting Attorney? All these
numbers and a lot more information can be found in the Guide
to City Services provided the City Clerks Office.
HOLLISTER POLICE DEPARTMENT… encourages everyone to
lock their vehicles when not in use and to remove all
valuable items from plain site. During National Child
Safety Week Law Enforcement Campaign, Hollister issued a
total of 40 traffic tickets, including, one (1) child safety
seat violations; three (3) safety belt tickets; 15 speeding
tickets and twenty-one (21) other traffic violation
tickets.
