It is the responsibility of the Public Works Department to repair and maintain all City Streets, water lines, and sewer lines within the City Limits of Hollister. The Public Works consists of six (6) full time employees under the direction of the Public Works Supervisor.

The City of Hollister has twenty-six (26) miles of streets within the City limits to maintain. With over thirty (30) miles of water lines and another twenty-six (26) miles of sewer lines, the maintenance department is kept busy with repairs and line replacement.

The City of Hollister is located in the hills of the Ozark Mountains in Western Taney County. The terrain creates storm water run off. The roads in the City of Hollister, which are hilly and curvy, require special care when removing snow and ice during the winter months.

Street equipment includes, two (2) F-750 dump trucks w/10 ‘ snow plows, two (2) F-350 1 ton w/8’ snow plows and salt spreaders, two (2) backhoes, rock hammer and a Kabota tractor w/street broom and sickle bar.
 

SNOW REMOVAL… Snow / ice will be removed from streets in the City of Hollister in the following order. Note: Knox Avenue from Princeton to East Highway 76 will always be closed during snow/ice conditions.

EAST SIDE OF TOWN:
1. BB Highway – Business Highway 65 - City Limits
2. Knox Avenue – BB Highway - Princeton Avenue
3. Evergreen Street – Business Highway 65 - dead end
4. Presbyterian Street – Business Highway 65 - Knox Avenue
5. Hawthorne Street – BB Highway – Evergreen Street
6. Brianna Drive – BB Highway – Hollister Elementary School
7. White River Mountain Blvd – BB Highway - Rock Spring Court
8. Hidden Valley Road
9. Railroad Avenue - Wilshire Drive - East Avenue

The dividing line is the railroad tracks for East – West.

WEST SIDE OF TOWN:
1. North & South Maple Street – Taneycomo Hill Drive to the City Limits
2. Taneycomo Hill Drive
3. First Street – Business Highway 65 - Esplanade
4. 2nd Street – Esplanade - Elm Street
5. Birch Street-North to dead end and south to dead end
6. All of Industrial Park Drive
7. SouthTowne Blvd and Mall Road
8. Blue Sky Lane – Bus 65 to Airport
9. Historic Highway 165 – Opportunity Ave to State Dr
10. Gage Drive – from Business 65 to dead end
All other streets will be cleaned after the priority list.
Keep all cul-de-sacs clear for emergency vehicles.
